San Francisco : Our Arrival

Handlery Union Square Hotel

We have City Sightseeing 4 in 1 Hop-On Hop-Off Tour for 48 hours.

See the sights of San Francisco from the top deck of an original London Bus or open top sightseeing bus by day or night.

Arrived at our Hotel 4 p.m. [Friday, 21 August 2014] long day.    

Our Flight from New Zealand was very good.   The queue at San Francisco Airport was very long, well over an hour in the line with many people missing connecting flights.

Then through immigration and I had a problem with taking prints of one hand and was sent out the back to get this completed, and then off to collect suitcases, pleased to see them both there.   Then off to collect the shuttle and stopped at every stop he could find as at that time there was only 2 of us on the shuttle, and then collected a customer from the domestic area.

Our Hotel is very close to Union Square which is where all the Hop on Hop Off Buses leave from.

Have spent the afternoon walking around our Hotel and streets getting our bearings as to where our Hotel is, and went through Macey's and Bloomingdale, beautiful shops.

Then thought we would catch a cable car to Fisherman's Wharf, waited another 3/4 hour and gave up it can wait until tomorrow.    Had tea on the way back to hotel, roast, veges and pasta.    Meal was alright but I don't like red roast of beef.

Off to do the Hop-on-Hop-off buses Friday and Saturday.    Can not do Alcatraz booked out until September.

Off to have a cup of tea at our Hotel.

      Big day today doing tours, done 3 today, another one tomorrow morning and then a cruise and cable car ride.

    Nice pics Margaret can't believe you are actually over there. All blacks had good win tonight I think the score was 51 20 it was an awesome game. Enjoy the rest of the holiday
