By Train to Washington

We will be in Washington from Monday 15th September to Thursday 18th September 2014

Up at 6 a.m. [Monday,  15 September] to catch taxi to Savannah Train Station.   Got on Amtrac train only 3 people in business class at start,   Told that there would be meals but only free tea etc.

Have travelled for 6 hours no views at all as mainly travelled through bush with occasional breaks for small run down towns hope it improves as we get near Washington.

Margaret has caught up with a lot of photos on the blog and Bill on Stuff and TAB results and ITM Cup.

A bit wobbly doing computer work.


This train trip was very disappointing, 90% of the trip we could only see 10 metres either side of the train, as we went through solid bush and some wet lands.

Margaret caught up with a lot of  computer work as there was Wifi and did a lot of photos spent three parts of the day doing this.

We arrived about 8 p.m. at the Station and was pleased to see our 2 bags had been put on.










We then caught a taxi from Union Sation (inside of the station very impressive) to our Hotel

Very nice Hotel and very busy.

We went for a walk and found a Safeway food shop and brought some tea and groceries and fruit. Fruit very expensive. 

Went back to our Hotel and had tea and then went for a walk till about 10 p.m.
