Today [Saturday, 13 September] we leave for Savannah

We are stopping 2 Days in Savannah GA


Savannah Hotel

Our alarm went off at 3.15 a.m. and caught Shuttle to the Airport, Flying Delta Airlines.

Prior to leaving we had printed out our Boarding Passes at the Hotel.     Line up in a very long queue and got to counter and was informed that one suitcase was too heavy, we were put aside to correct this, and line up again to pay $100.00 US Dollars excess.

 

 

Leaving Airport

Good flight to Atlantic, busiest Airport in the world, had to take 2 train rides just in the Delta Terminal, caught plane to Savannah, a 35 minute flight but waited longer than that just in the queues of Airplanes to get off the ground.

On arrival after collecting suitcases caught a taxi to Savannah which is about 14 miles from the Airport.

On entering the hotel met the Porter and she said Hah New Zealanders, and Bill said how do you know because of the House of Travel labels on the bags, she was from Christchurch.  Very friendly staff at our Hotel.    We have booked a Hop On Hop Off Bus and Paddle Steamer Cruise for tomorrow.

Nice hotel on the Riverfront, in evening went for a stroll along the waterfront.   Lots of quirky shops making lollies, honey shops, and many crab and shrimp outlets, lots of people.

Used the free tram to get home, it was extremely hot.
